Content Area Lesson Rubric
The purpose of this simple rubric is to help teachers bolster the literacy support being provided in specific content-area lessons by identifying areas of improvement in their lesson plans. This rubric is founded upon the belief that teachers must do the following in order to provide effective content-area literacy support:
- Identify student-centered learning goals and objectives.
- Provide support before, during, and after reading/learning activities in order to help students master content-area skills and processes.
- Assess how well students meet the learning goals and objectives on a consistent basis.
