No Time for Turf

No Time for Turf evolved from a meeting of chief state school officers and state health officials in 1999. Participants agreed that interagency collaboration is essential for promoting positive academic and health outcomes for students. This tool is designed to help support the implementation and sustainability of interagency collaborative efforts at the state and local levels. Conveniently packaged on a single CD-ROM, the kit contains five sections. Section 1 provides an overview of collaboration and includes the learning from extensive interviews about practices that contribute to the development, growth, and maintenance of sustainable interagency collaborations. Section 2 provides tools users can download to support their collaborative work. (Click here for a sample tool.) Section 3 offers suggestions for engaging a variety of stakeholders in supporting collaborative work. These include agency heads, school board members, governors, and legislators. (Click here for a sample tip sheet.) Section 4 provides web-based and print resources from other sources. Section 5 provides a PowerPoint  presentation for use in prompting and developing interagency collaborations.  (Click here to view the PowerPoint slides.)
