Subject: [msppdstudy] Fall SEC followup Survey with Teachers, Conference Calls, Workshop date
MSP Project Directors and Evaluators, School administrators and Staff
Project Staff
Three main items:
1. We are planning an additional Survey this Fall 2004 with all math and science teachers that responded to the baseline Survey of Enacted Curriculum in Spring 2003 --from Cleveland, El Paso and surrounding districts, Brockport/Rochester, and S. Texas/Corpus Christi.
This survey will be only on the Professional Development section of the Survey (about 30 items). We are now planning to conduct the survey by mail. The purpose will be to collect a complete record of the professional development activities of teachers in the sample--both MSP participants and other teachers in the study. This will also help us to analyze the degree of effectiveness of the web-based monthly Professional Development Activity Log system (PDAL).
2. Conference calls to discuss the Study Plans for 04-05. Please let me know when your site would like to schedule a phone call.
We would like to discuss the plans for the Fall special survey (above) and set plans for the complete Followup Survey of Enacted Curriculum in Spring 2005. Please send me an email (rolfb@ccsso.org) about the best date and time for you and your staff:
September 1, Sept. 2, Sept. 8, or Sept. 9-- am or pm.
3. The workshop for MSP project staff on Analyzing and Using SEC and PDAL data will be February 2, 2005 in Washington, DC. It will be held the day after the mid-winter NSF/ MSP conference--scheduled Jan. 31-Feb. 1. Our MSP/RETA grant will cover the extra expenses for staff to participate.
Thanks
Rolf
