Hello MSP sites and staff

We are sure you are having a busy summer—

The staff of the RETA: MSP PD study and I have several items of information for you—I know we missed our regular update last month.

1. CHECK CONTACT INFO
We are continuing to use the MSP PD study listserve—would you check the attached list of contacts and be sure your email and contact information is correct as well as the information of others that you wuold like to be informed about the project.

2.THANK YOU for lists—YEAR SEC Data
We are conducting anlaysis of the SEC Year 1 Baseline data now, and we appreciate the lists of participants in your MSP activiteis during year 1 (-03-04). These were very helpful in conducting these analyses. The results will be available by October in a written update report.

Meanwhile, if you have not received Year 1 data for your project and want access. Please contact me or John Smithson.

3.PLANNED DATA WORKSHOP—Feb 05
CCSSO, WCER, and AIR staff will host a workshop on Analyzing and Using the Data from Surveys of Enacted Curriculum and Prof Deve. Activity Log (online system) in February 2005 in Washington DC. The costs will be covered through our RETA grant for any of the 5 partner MSP sites, and we will offer this to other MSP projecs as well. The workshop is timed for you to have full access to the collected PDAL data and SEC data (including alignment data with standards and assessments).

4.CONFERENCE CALLS SCHEDULING, late August or early Sept.
We getting ready to plan the Year 3 Surveys of Enacted Curriculum with Math and Science Teachers (treatment and control groups) for next spring 2005 (April or May). We will contact each project director or evaluator to arrange a time when we can discuss dates and arrangements for the Surveys administration. As with the Year 1 surveys, we will plan to conduct onsite Survey administration during a target week that meets the schedule of the schools and districts in your MSP.
