English Language Arts Mathematics Science Social Studies Resources for States and Districts While most of CCSSO’s Adolescent Literacy Toolkit components can be used directly by classroom teachers, the Council and its partners recognize the essential role of states and districts in communicating the importance of adolescent literacy and the uses of the toolkit to educators. Also, the toolkit will have greater impact if it is part of, and aligned with, a statewide adolescent literacy initiative. Use the left navigation to access a PowerPoint presentation that provides a brief overview of the toolkit and a Professional Development Module that provides a more intensive introduction to the toolkit. The Adolescent Literacy Resources link points users directly to the adolescent literacy section of CCSSO’s Secondary School Redesign Web Portal – a one-stop shop of resources developed and recommended by states to enhance secondary school redesign and help states move from policy to practice.
