Meetings School Readiness
Ready Schools National Conference November 3-4, 2005 Atlanta, Georgia
The Ready Schools National Conference expanded the school readiness initiative by emphasizing transition and alignment principles in high poverty communities. The conference provided practices that help schools and communities reach out to all children and families. In depth knowledge was gained from researchers and practitioners on the establishment of effective community and school partnerships. The conference provided a forum to assist state education agencies in the development of processes to analyze early learning standards, curriculum and assessment to address alignment. Ninety-eight attendees, representing school improvement coordinators, Title I specialists, early childhood educators, parents, community advocates, and staff from state education agencies and local education agencies from 13 states, participated in the conference.
