Dear Colleagues:
Welcome to the Fifth Annual Forum of the Center for Improving Teacher Quality (CTQ)! Just over 200 of us from 40 states will be conferencing in the coming days. We are celebrating our final forum with a massive sharing of what we have learned. Please enjoy hearing from your colleagues during 25 breakout sessions, a case study panel presentation, regional breakout meetings, and numerous networking opportunities.
Our most sincere thanks go to our Project Officer, Bonnie Jones, and the Office of Special Education Programs at the U.S. Department of Education for supporting CTQ over the past 5 years. The partnership has been a successful one in which we both learned tremendous amounts about state and higher education policy and practice around the effective teaching of students with disabilities. The work has been inspiring.
Special thanks also go to our many CTQ partners -- the National Association of State Directors of Special Education (NASDSE), the American Association for Colleges of Teacher Education (AACTE), the OSEP- funded Regional Resource Centers, the National Comprehensive Center on Teacher Quality (NCCTQ), and the OESE federal Regional Comprehensive Centers -- all of whose collaboration has been essential to our success in serving the states. Please take the opportunity to connect with all these technical assistance providers who are there to help sustain the good work we have achieved.
I am always reminded during these annual forums that relationships are key to making effective change happen. My thanks go to all of you for making CTQ such a positive professional experience for all of us. Let’s continue the good work together!
Sincerely,
Kathleen Paliokas
Director, Center for Improving
Teacher Quality (CTQ)
