Kentucky CIO Testifies Before U.S. House Education and the Workforce Committee

Washington, D.C. (May 17, 2018) – David Couch, the Associate Commissioner and K-12 Chief Information Officer at the Kentucky Department of Education, is testifying before the House Committee on Education and the Workforce on May 17, 2018 at its hearing on Protecting Privacy, Promoting Data Security: Exploring How Schools and States Keep Data Safe. Couch also is a member of the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) Chief Information Officer Network. 

“While we do many things from a pure technology perspective to provide cybersecurity at the state and district level, we spend more time on professional development, or what we call the ‘people side’ of cybersecurity and privacy,” Couch said in his prepared written testimony.
