Over 30 states along with American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands, and the Department of Defense Education Activity attended the CCSSO workshop on Implementing AYP in State Accountability Systems in St. Louis, MO September 11-12, 2003. This workshop helped state education agency staff understand technical considerations in determining Adequate Yearly Progress, consider the implications of choosing one technical approach over another, and identify potential improvements to their state accountability systems' models for AYP, with particular attention paid to the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act.
