This paper was developed by the Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (InTASC) as a companion to the Model Core Teaching Standards. It identifies key state policy levers for moving the standards into policy and outlines considerations, recommendations, and cautions for using the core teaching standards to create a supportive state policy infrastructure that leads to improved student outcomes
