CCSSO conducted an alignment content analysis of the 2009 National Assessment of Educational Progress Reading and Science Assessments administered in 2009 for students at grades 4 and 8. The analysis was conducted using the methodology of the Surveys of Enacted Curriculum (SEC). The study of NAEP Reading and Science Assessments was supported by the National Center for Education Statistics through the Assessment Division. This report on the findings of the analysis was prepared by staff of the Council of Chief State School Officers, led by the project director Rolf K. Blank.
