State Consortium on Education Leadership (SCEL)
The State Consortium on Education Leadership (SCEL) is a national network of state education agency staff directors who are responsible for administrator standards and licensure criteria, testing, preparation programs, evaluation, professional development programs, and program criteria (e.g., leadership academies and on-line training), and school improvement strategies.
By sharing resources and professional experience about a variety of strategies to improve local administrator quality, participants gather in-depth information about what works-and what doesn't work-from other states' experiences with policies, strategies, resources, and programs. They have developed cross-state projects, used other states' materials, and received valuable feedback from colleagues. They guide and have access to a systematic clearinghouse and database of information and resources on a secure online workspace intended to harvest the best resources being developed around the country.
