English Language Development Assessment (ELDA)
ELDA is a battery of tests designed to allow schools to measure annual progress in the acquisition of English language proficiency skills among non-native English speaking students in grades 3-12. The battery consists of separate tests for listening, speaking, reading, and writing, at each of three grade clusters: 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12 and a separate K-2 Inventory. The test has recently been revised into a shorter form while maintaining impeccable statistical characteristics.
Current ELDA projects include:

- Developing three new shortened forms ELDA SA, SB, and SC ready for the 2011 administration.
- ELDA is also helping states to release items for their state professional development activities.
ELDA Collaborative Advisor: Sharon Sáez
Sharon Sáez is the Collaborative Advisor for both the ELDA and ELL SCASSs. Ms. Sáez is a program director with the Standards, Assessments and Accountability Team at CCSSO. Prior to joining CCSSO, Ms. Sáez was a Senior National Consultant at the Educational Testing Service. Ms. Sáez has also worked at the US Department of Education and for the Delaware Department of Education.
