Web Ex Recording: The Use of the Surveys of Enacted Curriculum (SEC) Data and Transition to the Common Core
Recording Date: Wednesday, March 21, 2012
Duration: 1 hour, 7 minutes
Description: On March 21, CCSSO hosted a webinar titled, "Transition to the Common Core Standards: What Do Educators Need to Know". The presenters included Carolyn Eastman, CCSSO Consultant, and Nicole Paulson, who focused on critical changes in methods and content of curriculum that teachers will need to incorporate into their instruction, including examples of instructional strategies consistent with the transition and a short video clip that illustrates an instructional strategy with teaching fractions. The recording and use of the power point presentation are being made available for broad use by educators and leaders interested in learning about the key transitions to instruction and curriculum under the Common Core Standards. Users may decide to convene a group of teachers and leaders to watch and listen to the recording together and use it as a basis for discussion. The webinar discussion was led by Andrew Hinkle, Ohio special education specialist and Rolf Blank, CCSSO program director.
