Description: CCSSO hosted a webinar on engaging higher education in Common Core implementation on April 5, 2012. During the webinar, Vince Verges from the Florida Department of Education presented on the state's partnership with higher education, the Institute for Evidence-Based Change released a rubric for states to evaluate their engagement with local institutions of higher education, and Sharmila Basu Conger from the State Higher Education Executive Officers (SHEEO) briefed participants on the College Readiness Partnership, a collaborative effort between AASCU, CCSSO and SHEEO to promote broad implementation of Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in mathematics and English Language Arts (ELA), with a focus on those issues at the intersection of K-12 and higher education systems. The presenters addressed audience questions at the end of the webinar.
