Celebrate Why You #LoveTeaching

Washington, D.C. (February 12, 2015) - At some point in most everyone's life, a teacher makes a difference.

Sometimes it's in obvious and immediate ways, and sometimes it takes years to fully realize how profound of an impact a teacher had on you. As we enter Valentine's Day week, let's take a moment to share the love for these educators, and for the teaching profession.

Please join the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) Feb. 14-22 as we support teachers across the nation who are taking to blogs, social media, and other avenues to show why they #LoveTeaching. This campaign is now in its second year. It was created in 2015 by State and National Teachers of the Year, including 2014 National Teacher of the Year Sean McComb.

You can join in this effort and help shine a light on all the good that teaching offers by sharing your personal story.

  • What made your favorite teacher so special?
  • How has a teacher shaped your life?
  • Why should young people consider teaching as a profession?
  • How has a teacher made a difference for your child?
