Washington, D.C. (November 6, 2015) - Ohio Superintendent of Public Instruction Richard Ross today announced that he plans to retire on Dec. 31. The Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) Executive Director Chris Minnich released the following statement:

"As a teacher, principal, district superintendent, and as a chief, Richard Ross has spent a career ensuring the students of Ohio have a high quality education preparing them for success in life after high school.  Superintendent Ross was a champion for improving early literacy through a focus on all students reading by third grade. His leadership will be missed, but I wish him all the best in the future."
