Washington, D.C. (February 23, 2016) -- The U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee has scheduled a hearing this morning to discuss implementing the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

Wisconsin Superintendent Tony Evers has been asked to testify at the hearing, "ESSA Implementation in States and School Districts: Perspectives from Education Leaders."

In his remarks, Superintendent Evers will share why he supports the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), and tell the Senators that with the stability and flexibility promised by ESSA, states stand ready to develop programs more suited to the unique needs of their schools and students. He will assure the committee members that states are committed to using additional flexibility under the new law to improve educational outcomes for all students.
