The NH State Board of Education Votes Unanimously to Endorse the Institutions of Higher Education (IHE) Network Position Statement
New Hampshire Department of Education (11/21/2012)The New Hampshire State Board of Education (SBE) voted unanimously on Nov. 21 to endorse the NH Institutions of Higher Education (IHE) Network position statement. The paper presented to the SBE says the IHE Network "stands ready to work with the Department of Education, the legislature, and the professional educational organizations throughout our state to build a modern workforce of educators, leaders, and scholars strongly committed to the highest aspirations of our profession and our communities." According to State Education Commissioner Virginia Barry, "This is a significant step towards continuous improvement and innovation of the professional educator preparation programs in New Hampshire. The IHE Network in New Hampshire may be the first in the nation to publicly take steps to work with the State Department of Education and districts and schools to meet the most pressing needs of 21st century learners and those who educate them."This news brief was summarized for Chiefline, CCSSO's weekly newsletter.
