New Report: Majority of Conn. Schools Meet Targets

The 2013 School and District Performance Report released in Connecticut on Dec. 5, a result of the state's No Child Left Behind waiver, reveals that over 50 percent of the state's schools achieved their overall performance targets. The report -- which was based on data from the 2012-13 Connecticut Mastery Test and the Connecticut Academic Performance Test -- labeled schools as "excelling," "progressing," or "transitioning." Based on various performance targets, the report identifies 73 schools of distinction. State Education Commissioner Stefan Pryor says, "We're pleased a majority of schools are already meeting their target in this new system."
