New Mexico School Grades Show Improvement

Albuquerque Business First (07/12/13) Renaud, Joe

New Mexico has released the 2013 A-F letter grades for 839 elementary, middle, and high schools. Grades were maintained or improved by more than 70 percent of schools, with improvements recorded by 87 percent of high schools. "Our challenge is to improve every student's achievement, every year. "This goal requires us to increase accountability and invest in targeted reforms that directly help those who are struggling the most." College and career readiness measures, student survey results, academic growth of lowest and highest achieving students, and parental involvement, among other criteria, are factored into the school grades.
