Navigating the New High School Equivalency Tests

The traditional GED test is no longer available and was replaced with a more expensive computer-only version of the test. There are also two new tests (both with paper and pencil options) available for students if their states choose to offer them- one from Educational Testing Service, called the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) and one from CTB/McGraw-Hill, called the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC). States are still deciding what they will do, but some have elected to offer all three tests, while others have decided to only offer one of the new tests.
