Nebraska Begins Search for Commissioner of Education

The Nebraska Department of Education has begun its search for the position of Nebraska Education Commissioner. The application form for the position is now available via the PROACT website. PROACT will pre-screen applicants and conduct preliminary interviews, suggesting a slate of candidates from which the semi-finalists will be selected. The timeline calls for the semi-finalists to be interviewed by the Nebraska State Board of Education Search Committee in November and the finalists to be named in December. The eight-member State Board of Education will interview the finalists in December at a public meeting. The finalists will have an opportunity to interact with other groups as well.
