Local and State Flexiblity to Use Federal Funding for College and Career Ready Standards Implementation

CCSSO will be hosting a webinar on Tuesday, July 9th at 3pm ET that explores local and state flexibility in the use of federal funds for college and career ready standards. The webinar will feature a presentation from Dr. Monique Chism, Director of Student Achievement and School Accountability Programs (SASA) for the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education at the U.S. Department of Education. Dr. Chism has spent years working to close achievement gaps and cultivate proficient schools.  As director of the SASA, she is responsible for administrating several federal grant programs including Title I, Part A Grants to Local Education Agencies.

 

This webinar will be particularly helpful for states and districts looking to improve education systems and determine the most effective use of federal funding. Dr. Chism will discuss flexibility states and districts have in using federal funding to implement college and career ready standards, ensuring that all students receive the necessary education to allow them to compete in the global economy.
