Kentucky Withdraws From PARCC Testing Consortium

Kentucky Gov. Steven Beshear, Education Commissioner Dr. Terry Holliday, and State Board President Roger Marcum recently sent a letter to the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers' (PARCC) governing board indicating that the state has pulled out of the consortium. The letter says the state will issue a request for proposals for new tests and that PARCC could submit bids along with other vendors. Kentucky's withdrawal means PARCC's membership now comprises 18 states and the District of Columbia.
