Idaho Deputy Carissa Miller Joins CCSSO as Deputy Executive Director
By Kate DandoCCSSO has announced that as of February 2013, Carissa Miller is named deputy executive director overseeing CCSSO's membership program, federal advocacy activities, and research service.
Miller formerly served as the deputy superintendent for the 21st Century Classroom for the Idaho Department of Education. In this role she oversaw all state testing, and was responsible for tracking achievement and graduation rates under No Child Left Behind, along with content, school choice and charter schools. Her background includes extensive experience in the development and administration of online assessments and adaptive testing. Additionally, Miller served as the executive committee co-chair of the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium.
"I could not be more excited about adding Carissa to the leadership team here at CCSSO," said CCSSO Executive Director Chris Minnich. "She has proven to be a true leader at the Idaho Department of Education, and at the national level. She will be a great asset for the organization and for chief state school officers across the country."
