Florida Graduation Rates Rise

The Florida Education Department reports that the statewide graduation rate rose to 75.6 percent this year, up more than five percentage points since the 2010-11 school year. State Education Commissioner Pam Stewart says, "I am very pleased that Florida's graduation rate continues to rise. Florida's parents and teachers have worked very hard to help students be successful and I want to thank them for their continued efforts to help students graduate from high school ready to move on to college and career." The single-year dropout rate, meanwhile, rose to 2 percent.
