DQC to Host Webinar on The Power of Communication

On Tuesday, February 19 at 2:00 p.m. (EST), DQC will host "The Power of Communication," a discussion of communications challenges and success. Experts on developing and implementing communications strategy will share their experience to help you get started on your own communications plan. Engaging in effective communications about education policy goals will help states prevent mistrust and confusion, allow states to "own" their messages, and provide stakeholders with a common language.  The following experts will be featured during the webinar:

  • Kate Blosveren, Associate Director of Strategic Initiatives at Achieve, will highlight tools and strategies for states building communications plans.
  • Colleen Flory, Assistant State Superintendent, Policy Implementation, at the Oklahoma State Department of Education, will discuss her state's communications challenges, what they learned, and how they have moved forward.
  • David Mansouri, Director of Advocacy and Communications at Tennessee State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE), will recount the successful Expect More Achieve More campaign in Tennessee, a communications partnership between the state and SCORE.
  • Brennan McMahon, Associate, State Policy Initiatives, Data Quality Campaign, will moderate.
