CCSSO Co-Hosts Webinar on Using Open Educational Resources
By Abby HexterCCSSO, iNACOL, SETDA and the NAESP will host a webinar titled Using Open Educational Resources (OER) to Empower Collaborative Learning Communities on Wednesday, June 19 from 4:00-5:00pm, ET. The webinar will focus on identifying strategies for using open educational resources (OER) to promote powerful collaboration among instructional teams and to enrich learning experiences for students. The webinar will include an overview of the characteristics and advantages of OER and examine how policies are changing to encourage their ability to support successful implementation of the Common Core and other college and career ready standards. Additionally, the webinar will address the promises and challenges of OER and where educators can find and share high quality resources and tools. An elementary principal and teacher will discuss their experiences with OER, and the session will conclude with concrete suggestions for how to use OERs within schools. Presenters include Stephen J.
