CCSSO Briefing: Transforming Educator Preparation and Entry into the Profession
States agree to implement policies to improve educator preparation
Please join the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO), on Monday, December 17, 10:00 AM ET, for a briefing on the CCSSO Task Force Report Our Responsibility, Our Promise: Transforming Educator Preparation and Entry into the Profession.
The report, which will be released publicly during the briefing on December 17, identifies three aspects of preparation systems that states can focus on to improve policy: teacher licensure, program approval, and data collection, analysis, and reporting. By focusing on these key leverage points, states can improve their educator preparation policies to ensure that every teacher and principal are ready to prepare our students for college and careers as soon as they enter the profession.
Thomas Luna, Idaho Superintendent of Public Instruction, Jason Glass, Iowa Director of Education, Virginia Barry, New Hampshire Commissioner of Education, and Gene Wilhoit, CCSSO Executive Director will speak about the task force recommendations and implications for state policies and practice.
