Barresi Lifts Double-Test Requirement for Students

Oklahoma Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Janet Barresi will immediately end the double-test requirement for middle school students in math. Middle school students testing in Algebra I, Algebra II, or Geometry will no longer be required to take a separate grade-level math assessment, she said. The state requested a waiver from the U.S. Department of Education in November but has not yet received a response.
