Assessment Group to Begin Testing Common Core Platform

Education Week (03/08/13) Bock, Mike

Around 6,000 schools from 23 member states will test online assessment software from the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium through May 2013. The software ultimately will be used to deliver computer-based tests aligned with the Common Core State Standards, and the trial is intended to collect data and test the delivery system in "real world conditions." Students in grades 3-11 will take the pilot tests in English language arts/literacy and math, but they will not be graded. The data will be used to develop an adaptive-testing feature to be completed by 2014.
