20 Districts, Nonprofits Set to Share $150 Million in New i3 Awards

Education Week (11/08/12) McNeil, MicheleThe U.S. Department of Education has named 20 school districts and nonprofits as winners of the third round of the Investing in Innovation (i3) grant competition. A total of $150 million was awarded, with eight "validation" awards up to $15 million and 12 "development" awards up to $3 million. The winners will not receive their grants until they secure matching funds; a 15 percent match for development award winners and a 10 percent match for validation award winners are needed.
