Connecticut Education Commissioner Stefan Pryor will take advantage of U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan's flexibility proposal, asking that 20 percent of state students field-testing a new online assessment in the 2013-14 academic year not be required to take traditional state tests in the same year.

06/18/13: Arne Duncan Allows Waiver States Extra Time on Teacher Evaluation

The U.S. Department of Education (DOE) will give additional flexibility to states whose No Child Left Behind Act waiver requests were approved before the summer of 2012, allowing them to delay the use of student growth on state tests in their teacher evaluations for one year until the 2016-17 school year.
