DID Resource Kit for States, Districts and Schools

Welcome!

This website was created by the Wallace Foundation-supported Leadership Issue Group focused on the area of improving data-informed decisionmaking of school and district education leaders. The site is designed to be an “open source” web-based toolkit of information, process tools, research, survey data and best practices to help leaders in states, districts, and schools use data more effectively. “Open-source” means users are able to add resources to the toolkit using prescribed criteria for usefulness and effectiveness. The mechanism for adding to the toolkit has not yet been determined, but for now the site offers many excellent resources and information at your fingertips!

The framework is organized in a way that educators and policymakers throughout the system can learn about data-informed leadership and use the tools in ways that move their state, district or schools forward. The main three sections are:

The School Role

The District Role

The State Role

Within each of those levels are subsections that present Essential Elements, Promising Practices, Critical Questions and Resources. The subsections are:

Comprehensive Data

Standards for Data Use

Training in Data Use

Conditions to Support Data

Using Data Effectively

Assessing Leader Effectiveness

Critical Policy and Practice Questions
