DID Resource Kit for States, Districts and Schools

This web-based resource kit is the culmination of two years of collaborative work undertaken by the Data-Informed Decisionmaking (DID) Leadership Issue Group supported by the Wallace Foundation’s Leadership for Learning program and managed by the Council of Chief State School Officers. The charge to the DID group was to identify the data use issues the Leadership for Learning implementation sites were encountering and come together as a community of practice to share knowledge and innovations across sites. The group focused on the question: “What conditions should be put into place to support school leaders’ effective use of data to improve student achievement?” Answers to this question and others are captured in this resource kit.

This site was created by a small design team on behalf of the larger DID Leadership Issue  Group. Members of the design team included Jane Armstrong of JM Armstrong & Associates, Katy Anthes of The Third Mile Group, Sara Vitaska of the National Conference of State Legislatures,
Jeff Nelsen of Targeted Leadership Consulting, and Cathy Walker of The Third Mile Group

On this site are reports of data-use products, descriptions of how to form support networks, tools to assess leaders’ data literacy and background resources. Users may enter the website by focusing on school, district or state level issues. Many resources in each section of the Web-site and the tools were identified through the excellent work of the Assessment and Accountability Comprehensive Center.
